The Forest Management Unit Area X Padangsidimpuan carried out joint patrol for two days (5-6/01/2026) in South Tapanuli. The patrol team consisted of five persons from KPH X (Marjito, Chairil Chandra, Dayani, Anggita, I. Rotonga). Participants from Scorpion Foundation included Aris Dedi and Sahrul Efendi. The patrol aimed to monitoring orangutan habitats and displaced people at the aftermath of the recent flash flood and landslide.
a). Day 1, the patrol team visited Tolang Julu village. The team assisted displaced people to build a temporary house and at the same time asked them not to disturb any protected animals in their surrounding areas.
b). Day 2, The KPH X and Scorpion Foundation carried out orangutan habitat monitoring in Tolang Jae village. At this location, some areas were affected by the recent landslide and flash-flood. The patrol team encountered some timbers in the area. The KPH checked with the local community to ensure that the timbers would be used by displaced people for repair of their houses only but to for sale or for business.
